On the Dolphin Snorkel & Swim Adventure, come experience a morning swim with magnificent dolphins on the beautiful Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii! The Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins are year round residents, so you can expect to see them whenever you come and visit us.

There is nothing that compares to the feeling of being in the ocean with the dolphins! You can see dolphins on TV, visit them in captivity, and you can even see them from a boat -- but swimming with them in their natural ocean habitat is a unique and magical experience that can touch you in ways you cannot even imagine!

Your journey will start with a Hawaiian Ceremony to greet the day, and then we set off on the adventure of a lifetime on our 37 foot vessel! As we are making our way along the Kona Coast, relax and let yourself enjoy the feel of the wind and notice how the sun glints off the surface of the ocean.

Take in the beautiful color of the ocean as she beckons to you...the setting is perfect. And then you see them...Spinner Dolphins that are spinning in the air to greet you!

They love to ride the bow wake of our boat. They are sleek, graceful and exude absolute joy. There is nothing like seeing these magnificent dolphins for the first time.

After receiving instruction about the proper protocols for entering into the dolphin's world and receiving some insider tips on how to get the most out of your dolphin swim, the moment comes when, quietly and gently, you ease into the water with these incredible beings and join the dolphin pod. It's completely safe, and a rewarding experience for the entire family. All you need is your sense of wonder and a willing spirit.

During the winter, there's a good chance you'll see Humpback Whales on the way to be with the dolphins. Other interesting sea life has been known to pay us a visit such as Spotted Dolphins, Bottle Nose Dolphins, Whale Sharks, Pilot Whales, Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, and Turtles among many others. We may even find an Octopus for you to see!

Simply put, the experience is transformative, and it's frankly impossible to fully articulate. Dolphins are amongst the most intelligent beings on the planet and being with them in their own habitat will amaze you.

**PLEASE NOTE: We do have a world class videographer on board with us most days to capture your experience on the boat and in the ocean with the dolphins which you can purchase at the end of the trip if you would like. It is a wonderful way to experience your day again and again!

We are able to accommodate handicapped guests on board the vessel. A phone number regarding handicapped access will be provided for you after your order is placed that you will need to call prior to your tour departure. Please note: Wheelchairs are not permitted on board the vessel.

Both of our captains are United States Coast Guard Licensed and have been conducting dolphin swims longer and more successfully than any other Hawaiian Dolphin Swim eco-tour operator -- 15 years! We have a 98% success rate in finding dolphins each day. Equally important is the context within which we offer our tours. Fun Facts About Spinner Dolphins:

~ In Hawaii we call the dolphins Nai'a.
~ They travel in groups called pods.
~ They are called Spinner Dolphins because they leap out of the water and spin.
~ Dolphins and whales are air breathing mammals, just like us.
~ Dolphins are conscious breathers -- meaning that they must be conscious to continue swimming and coming up for air. We are unconscious breathers -- we go to sleep and continue to breathe unconsciously.
~ So how do dolphins sleep if they must remain conscious? They have the unique ability to shut down one half of their brain at a time while the other half remains awake.
~ If you are in the water with them, you can tell which side of their brain is asleep because their eye will be closed on that side.
~ Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins are one of the smaller species of dolphin.
~ Adults are 5 feet to 7 feet long and weigh about 120 lbs or so.
~ They are very social beings and quite affectionate with one another.
~ They will play the leaf game with one another, and sometimes they will let you join in!
