Take a narrated volcano adventure to Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island on this extraordinary 9.5-hour tour. Hike over past volcanic lava flow and possibly experience current lava flow. Black sand beaches, waterfalls and several park visits are also included on this tour!

This tour includes a visit to Volcanoes National Park to get near Kilauea Volcano. This active volcano covered the village of Kalapana with its lava flow, and you have the opportunity to hike over this lava flow!

You will also visit the famous Kaimu black sand beach. Take a short walk out to the black sand beach to an area that was once the ocean but has now been filled with cooled lava.

If there is any surface lava flow during your visit, you may see steam or lava flowing down to the sea.

At Volcanoes National Park, you will have lunch at Volcano House Restaurant (price NOT included), visit Jaggar Museum, walk through the Thurston Lava Tube and view the Kilauea Iki Crater. Tour also includes Lava Tree State Park, a park featuring plant life covered by cooled lava flow.

Tour will conclude with a trip to the majestic Rainbow Falls and to a colorful anthurium and orchid nursery.

Please Note: The Volcano House Restaurant is closed for renovations and will not re-open until 2012. Lunch stops will be made at Mauna Loa Mac Nut and Kalapana Village Cafe instead.

Summary: Pick-ups are provided for the Hilo Airport and Hilo area hotels. Pick-ups are scheduled from 8:00 am to 8:30 am. Child rates are for children ages 3 to 11. Please reserve online or call us toll-free at 888-837-6930. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Important Notes
~ All passengers will be required to sign a release of liability form before tour departure.
~ Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes as this tour traverses sharp, uneven lava surfaces.
~ Young children and passengers with asthma or other respiratory conditions are discouraged to take this tour to avoid potential health problems due to exposure to fumes.
~ Weather or lava viewing conditions cannot be predicted. Lava viewing features can change hourly. Active lava flow sightings are NOT guaranteed.
~ When lava enters the ocean, intense heat can produce a plume cloud with dangerous and potentially life-threatening toxic gases, super-heated steam and hydrochloric acid. Airborne particles are a hazard to your eyes and lungs.
~ Follow only marked routes and your guide's instructions to keep a safe distance from any inland lava flow. Molten lava is 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit!
