Enjoy a Big Island horseback ride from Kamuela. This two-hour horseback ride takes place on the famous Parker Ranch on the Big Island. Come and see where paniolos (cowboys) and horses first met 150 years ago.

The ride starts at the Blacksmiths Shop, going on to the breaking Pen, through rolling hills to the Stone Corrals, where as many as 5,000 head of Hereford cattle were held after being driven down from the slopes of Mauna Kea. See the Red Track where famous thoroughbreds were trained and still hold world records for speed.

Advance reservations are required. Parker Ranch is approximately 37 miles by car from Kona International Airport and approximately 57 miles by car from Hilo Airport. It is minutes from the Kamuela Airport which offers scheduled service from other islands.

Summary: This tour does not include hotel or condo pick-up. Please note in the "Comments" box on the Order Form if any rider's body weight is in excess of 250 pounds. The minimum age is 7; no one under 7. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-837-6930. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

General Information:
We can accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders. Western style only. Non-English speaking guests are welcome and easily accommodated. The minimum age requirement is seven years old. Long pants and covered shoes are recommended, as well as a jacket in case it gets cool.

The 4:00 pm ride is the Sunset Ride: Experience Waimea's breathtaking sunset on this 1 1/2 - 2 hour horseback ride. Refreshments are provided.

NOTE: For those who choose not to ride and are waiting for others on the ride, WAGON RIDES, HISTORICAL HOMES tours, and the VISITORS CENTER and MUSEUM at the Parker Ranch Shopping Center are alternate activities that are available.

Driving Directions to Parker Ranch:
From the Kohala Coast - Take Waikoloa Road up the slope past Waikoloa Village, turn left on 190 and drive past Parker Ranch pastures as you head to Waimea.
From Kona - Take Highway 19. Turn right onto Highway 190 (Waikoloa). Follow 190 until you reach the junction - then turn left onto Highway 19. This will take you into Waimea town. Turn right onto Pukalani Road (at Ace Hardware store). Follow the yellow signs to Cowboys of Hawaii.
From Hilo - Take Highway 19 to Waimea. Turn left onto Pukalani Road (at Ace Hardware store). Follow the yellow signs to Cowboys of Hawaii.
